The piece of writing written by our pairs now forms a significant piece for our work to develop from.
I firstly write it out so it's simple to read.
I then decide to make a code for each letter, I used angular shapes to reflect the initial drawing.
I really like how this has turned out, very simple and aesthetically appeasing.
I like how it's not understandable, however certain letters may be recognisable.
For this second idea, I continued with the theme of symbols but instead of shapes I translated the letters into numbers instead. So A=1 B=2...
For my third piece, I re wrote my paragraph in a completely different order. I took the first word and placed it next to the last word of the text...and kept going backwards and forewards. It makes for a more surrealist poem, reminiscent of Tristan Tzara.
My fourth piece was influenced by Georges Perec, and his book 'A Void'.
He removed the letter 'e' from the language as this letter is the most commonly used. I decided to have a go and take the 'e's from my piece of writing.
It suddenly makes it very abstract and unusual, I think it makes it more visually beautiful.
My final experiment was created with the use of a thesaurus. I made a really elaborate sentence from changing the original words to something else. I didn't mind making the language unusual, not making a sentence in language which would usually be used. But that was done on purpose and what makes it interesting.
All of these idea's can now be worked upon further, maybe in a more artistic sense.
