Little Experiment 2

Here I typed out my analysis for my piece of writing, to see what the pages would look like with the writing neatly typed as opposed to hand written.

I think it's an interesting idea, however having the typed analysis instead of the uneven handwriting makes the meaning of the poem loose its charm. Definitely not appropriate for me to have the analysis typed because it looses the personal aspect and organic spur of the moment interpretation.

Little Experiment

Here I had a go with the idea of removing the initial text so it leaves you simply with the analysis. The is quite interesting, as it tells you a simple breakdown of the story without you knowing what the story was..
Which goes with the concept of rambling.. because when you ramble it doesn't tend to make sense, and you miss out parts.

Important Discovery!
Also with the idea of over analysing, by removing the actual words, you have lost track of the initial facts, leaving your mind to over analyse, make up and ramble as it goes along. So you over dramatise something that probably didn't even mean anything anyway.

Plus, this poem was made through coincidence...
So... there is no meaning for the poem anyway. Exaggerating how over analysing things and rambling counts for a lot of rumours, arguments and paranoia.

Alternatively...

Wipe the idea of having an image with the text all together.

-Work with the analysed book, and use this as a springboard for my outcome.
Either

-Photocopy and use simply the analysed book.
-Add a handwritten or typed summary of my translation underneath
-add an index at the back of the book and have explanations typed concisely
-remove the typed poem simply leaving behind the handwritten analysis
-Poster of just my written interpretation

Ana Laura Perez

I found these collages really interesting, and i'm thinking of perhaps creating more random and abstract collages influenced by these to go better with my initial concept of rambling.

These are a couple of pages from a book which contains her work. I really like the simple layout and how it's been transformed to greyscale as it makes the collage more neutral.

-Im thinking perhaps about having a collage one one side of the page, with a small amount of text from my story on the other.

-Or, having the girl character on the inside front cover/or the front cover itself, with the male character on the inside back/back cover, and having the text simply placed inside the book, without any image. (the image could be applied through screen printing?)

-Or screen printing a poster including the characters and text. With a retro film poster feel in mind.

New Characters To Illustrate My Story?

I Don't Like You... But Actually I Secretly Do

My Interpretation.

A Story/Re-enactment Of The Typical Attitude Of Adolescent Infatuation/Young Love.

I look like I don't like you and i'm not interested however secretly I do like you. Because secretly Im insecure even though Im pretty sure you like me, but Im going to be harsh to you so you think I don't like you.

If you say you don't like me then it will make me like you more. So if Im horrible to you then you will not like me which will make me really like you.

Though already by now we are both majorly confused in our minds if we like each other or not, really we do like one another (secretly).

You've backed off because of my and direct character so this has made me worry. I don't know if you really do like me. But I just want you to know I like you now so I don't have to hide under a facade.

I cant handle it anymore. So, I admit I like you, but as I haven't been true to you, can you be true and tell me that you do like me and mean it?

Im going to be the one to change, I want to be with you. Though really I don't actually like you and never have.
(This is a lie.)

My Analysis

Tangent -> Rambling -> Ramble -> Ramble More -> Analyse?

If you look at the work I have done, the work in itself has gone on a tangent. In more ways than one. I initially started with the idea of a tangent and then it transformed into being more about rambling and then it was focused on words and how nice they are...

As well as the obsession turning into a tangent of different focuses, my work also goes off in a tangent from the first piece, and then how that influenced the next...and so on. The last piece I did was massively different to the first...

So continuing with the work and the purpose going on a tangent, im thinking of continuing that and taking my work off just one more time into something slightly more evolved.

The element which Im planning on working with, is the abstract piece of writing.
I think its a really interesting piece which I have no clue what it's even about myself. So I would like to dissect the text to create a story or a meaning to it.

I will analyse the writing, inputting my own opinion as to what it's about. I then may try to illustrate it.

Ideas

The positive feedback I got from my initial works, in relation to an element to be explored further were:

-my plain cream booklets were lovely.
the placement on the page with the text was appreciated.

-the words of my piece of writing
really beautiful and unusual, wanted to dissect and understand.

-my large book of my rambling
intriguing and absorbing, the viewer wanted to read on.

Words

The writing I pieced together I find to be reminiscent of something Yoko Ono would write.

In her book 'Grapefuit', she pieces together words to create conceptual artwork.

SNOW PIECE (1963)

Think that snow is falling. Think that snow is

falling everywhere all the time. When you talk

with a person, think that snow is falling between

you and on the person. Stop conversing when

you think the person is covered by snow.

The Fanatic Product

For the second part to the fanatics project, I must develop my work and accumulate a final piece which will be reproduced and sold to the public at a sale.

My subject is...
My Product is...

Poetic Ramble Booklet

This is the piece which was influenced by e.e cummings, mainly in the layout of the words on the paper.
I wanted to have the words small, neat, concise. I think this makes it appealing to read, as well as looking quite time less.

This can be given out as it is, although it would be nice for it to be developed by having an image somewhere to help visualise, or represent how rambling makes beauty.

Love this piece more because of the layout of the typography with the crisp photo. Very enticing to keep on reading - definitely shows words as a beautiful object.

Love the idea of forming a totally random image to go with the concept of a total random bit of writing through rambling. Combined would look quite surreal.

Really like the idea of a collage, the outcomes from collaging can be very random, due to only having images that are available. No two can really be the same. You will always get an unknown outcome, which can be kept on-going and on-going.

I particularly liked the style of this collage, there is a mixture of old with new, and it has quite a retro look about it, yet this collage maintains a sophisticated organised feel.

e.e cummings

A poet who has inspired me for this project.
Not only for the creative assembly of words, but also for the creative layout

The sentence structure, and the mix up of punctuation and upper and lower case

I think the assembly on the page is beautiful.

Id like to create my own piece from my own abstract poetic writing to create a booklet on the beauty of words, and rambling.

Final Piece to Communicate The Greatness of Going on a Tangent

So far I have been on my own tangents,
however I haven't yet symbolised the potential of how tangents create the next thing, and without tangents, you would have never had the idea for the next stage in the first place...

A -QWERTYUIOPSDFGHJKLZXCVNM- B

1 -3859746- 2

* -)_(=+[{&^]};:$'"\|£<,>@.?/!- **

The above examples represent how to get from A to B or 1 to 2 or * to ** then you have to think about lots of different options, just keep persisting and persisting, then you will have a completely different and interesting outcome to what you may have initially thought was possible to imagine.

a:

This is a low tec publication idea for my tangent concept.

I decided with the product in mind of a newspaper. I thought a piece in the style of a newspaper would work well as newspapers are used to promote/inform/persuade and so with me creating a piece like this, then hopefully the element of promotion will subconsciously be there.
